Natunase BG

Multi-Component Enzyme Solution for Improved Brewery Processing & Filtration

Non-starch polysaccharides such as cellulose, hemicellulose, β-glucans, and arabinoxylans present in plant-derived raw materials can increase viscosity during brewing and affect downstream operations such as filtration, ultra-filtration, and centrifugation.

Efficient breakdown of these components during malt extraction and mashing can help reduce process viscosity and support improved wort and beer filtration.

Natunase BG is a food-grade multi-component enzyme complex produced by fermentation of selected strains of Trichoderma reesei and Penicillium funicolosum. It exhibits activity towards cellulose, hemicellulose, β-glucans, and arabinoxylans and is formulated to hydrolyse non-starch polysaccharides found in barley, wheat, soy, and other plant-derived substrates.

  • Hydrolyses cellulose and hemicellulose
  • Breaks down β-glucans and arabinoxylans
  • Helps reduce viscosity caused by non-starch polysaccharides
  • Improves filtration efficiency
  • Supports ultra-filtration and centrifugation operations
  • Supports breakdown of β-glucans, pentosans, and other gums
  • Helps increase filtration rate of wort and beer
  • Helps avoid haze formation

Natunase BG is suitable for :

  • Malt Extraction
  • Beer Brewing

FAQ's

Can NATUNASE support brewing with different raw materials?

Yes. NATUNASE includes enzyme solutions suitable for brewing applications involving malt as well as adjunct grains such as rice and other cereals, depending on the process requirement and selected enzyme.

Why should breweries optimise their mashing process instead of increasing production time?

Improving process efficiency often delivers greater benefits than extending production time. Depending on the application, NATUNASE helps improve mash processing, filtration, extract recovery, and brewhouse throughput without requiring changes to existing brewing equipment.

When should a brewery consider using NATUNASE?

Breweries experiencing challenges related to starch processing, mash viscosity, wort separation, extract recovery, or adjunct brewing can evaluate the appropriate NATUNASE enzyme to optimise process performance.
